One Month.

Meetings with Hasan G., and Nazim on Thursday and Friday evenings to finalise the list of materials so all can be ordered and arrive on time, and to discuss various upgrades. We are going for a special tile on the swimming pool (1500 YTL), oak wood throughout rather than the standard pine (3000 YTL). We are not going for corian in the kitchen (2,500 YTL extra), nor a jacuzzi circular bath (1500 YTL extra)(heh no harm in asking), nor the diesel-powered water underfloor heating throughout at a total cost of more than 20,000 YTL. This seemed like a lot of money for something we shall use for 1 month per year. Instead Nazim has found an electrical system for approx €550 per room, we shall have this installed in 4 downstairs rooms and maybe upgrade some of the air-con units...
On site at Saturday teatime the forms for the concrete to build the ground floor are all in place. If they can get a "slot" from the concrete producer tomorrow the floor will be built. The original plan was to have both floors done by the beginning of April so we are a few days behind schedule. Nobody seems unduly concerned yet...
Nazim was working late on Saturday night and called to see if I was free to come and do the basement layout. We found something we both liked and he liked our choice of tiles for the 2 basement bathrooms. We have sourced enough smooth finish (Ida) stone for the interior (more than 100 m2) and requested the 200 m2 of the same stone in the outdoor finish. There is, however, no guarantee it will be produced before we move in! We have also secured enough (Pergamon) stone for the basement level. I left him working to go for a drink with Servet here on a flying visit.
